When banks run switch offers
Every switch offer from 2018 to today. This helps you know what to expect going forward & how to make £1,000+ free cash.
It may not be the coolest of hobbies, but I’ve been tracking switch offers for years.
Switch offers have become increasingly common in recent years as competition between banks has ramped up.
This is great for you, as it means more offers available. As you’ll see below, you can now make over £1,000 free cash from them. Enjoy the free cash!
Who’s running offers in 2026
So far in 2026, switch offers have come from 3 banking groups and 5 individual banks.
Below shows the last 6 months:
- Each offer tends to run between 3 to 6 months.
- TSB ran an offer until February so shows as no ticks above. They are considered likely to return with another offer.
- Note: Only Barclays and Lloyds Group give an expiry date. So you can’t be sure when an offer will be pulled by the bank. Though they tend to put them back live within a few months.

One bonus per group
You can only take one bonus from each banking group. We rank these within the Offers section. To explain how each group works:
- HSBC Group banks run different offers: First Direct criteria tends to be much easier. HSBC pays about the same once First Direct’s cashback is counted, but needs £2,000 paid in and £500 of card spending.
- Lloyds Group banks run similar offers: Lloyds and Bank of Scotland run similar offers. If either is running, just go for it.
- NatWest Group banks run the same offers: NatWest and RBS run the same offer, so just pick either of them. Ulster Bank is in the same group but is not running one right now.

Offers cluster rather than spreading evenly through the year. Autumn is consistently the busiest stretch, and no month is ever empty.
The busiest and quietest months
Based on all offers since 2023:
- November and October are the busiest months, averaging around 5 offers running.
- September, January and April are the quietest, averaging around 3 offers.

- HSBC Group has an offer running about 11 months of the year, far more than anyone else.
- The rest average between 4 and 7 months.
