Rakuten is one of the world's leading cashback platforms, now serving UK shoppers with access to 400+ brands. It’s a similar model to TopCashback and Quidco, offering:
% Shopping Cashback on popular retailers like John Lewis, ASOS, eBay and Booking.com.
One-Off Cashback on Amazon, a range of banks, insurance providers and financial services.

The headline sign-up bonus is a straightforward £25 in free cash. Spend £60 (£50 + VAT) on eligible cashback purchases within 90 days of joining, and the bonus lands in your Rakuten account. You can split that £60 across multiple purchases at retailers like eBay, John Lewis, and ASOS - no need to spend it all in one go.
On top of the sign-up bonus, it’s worth mentioning their £5 Amazon cashback offer running too. Click through to Amazon via Rakuten on your next 5 purchases and you'll get £1 cashback each time - no minimum spend per order. That takes total profit to £30.
The 45-day wait for your sign-up bonus to confirm might feel long, but once it's there you can withdraw instantly to your bank or PayPal. Easy money.
Done? Tick off each step above to see your total.
On top of the £25 sign-up bonus, you can earn an extra £5 by shopping at Amazon through Rakuten.

Rakuten Marketing Europe runs the UK arm of this Tokyo-listed cashback group, paying a share of retailer commission back when you shop through its links. Quidsy lists the welcome free cash offer for new members. Best as a second cashback platform alongside Quidco or TopCashback, since the UK retailer roster is smaller.

Rakuten is worth signing up for, but as your second cashback platform, not your first. The £25 welcome bonus is a quick win for any UK shopper planning a £60+ purchase at a partner retailer, and once you're in, the One-Off Cashback section is where the platform earns its place on your bookmarks bar.
I keep Rakuten installed specifically for those One-Off Cashback opportunities. When a bank or insurance company is offering cashback through Rakuten that isn't available on TopCashback or Quidco, it's worth knowing. The browser extension does the work of remembering, you visit the retailer, it nudges you to activate, you carry on shopping.
The UK retailer count is smaller than the big two cashback sites, and a few percentage points of cashback rate can swing either way depending on the merchant. That's why a quick rate compare before any major purchase is a habit worth building, regardless of which platform you start with.
If you're picking just one cashback site, start with TopCashback or Quidco. If you want a free £25 and a useful second platform with a specific edge on financial products, add Rakuten too.
