For a first switch, Bank of Scotland is hard to beat. The £175 is among the easiest switching bonuses to claim because there is no money to pay in and nothing to spend. You just need your old account to have three active Direct Debits, and those move across automatically with the switch.

As an everyday bank it is solid rather than exciting: free, reliable and app-based, but without the interest or rewards some rivals offer.

If you have not had a switch bonus from this banking group since January 2023, it is a clean, low-effort win, and a sensible first step before moving on to other switch offers.
